Omg! Since I came back to work, so many things to clear! Let's talk about Monday. 😊
First day back at work!
First day back at work & there's a pokestop at my office 😂🙆🏻
& lure! 🙆🏻🙆🏻
& I could catch Magikarp at my desk! 🙆🏻🙆🏻🙆🏻
Recent additions over Sunday & Monday!
Lunch time is an Açaí bowl from #ProjectAcai because #CarmenEatsClean is back on track & I love love LOVE this place! 💕💕💕
Added peanut butter cos I'm feeling it! 😋💦
Peanut butter is my favvv! Just finished the tub at home & I'm on the hunt for an organic / low fat healthy option! 🙆🏻
& then there are meetings & trainings & a whole lot of work to get done after my leave………
I managed to squeeze time in for a facial teehee 🤐
Loving how my skin feels after a deep cleansing session. Aiyah I just 💞 the feeling of being pampered. Like on a down day, a haircut / hair wash / hair treatment can make you feel all recharged & ready to take on the world again. 💪🏻
So, after I was done with my day.. It was time for dinner.. Here's a place that I'm obsessed with currently:
Here's why this place has my heart,
"Here at The Providore, we don't just love food, we adore food."
Ever since embarking on this eat clean journey (I'm still on it & I've so much to learn & room to improve e.g. on disciple / willpower 😅), I've become more aware of the food that I put into my body.
I've learnt to appreciate fresh produce, the taste of lightly / unseasoned food. Like how capsicums & snap peas are really sweet raw / lightly blanched.
I've also learnt how to create taste with food. For example if I wanted a little bit of spiciness I'll add sliced raw onions / minced raw garlic, those always add a bit of oomph when they're uncooked. If I need "sour" in my dressing I'll use a dash of fresh lemon juice. 🍋 Sweet is easy, honey cherry tomatoes add little explosive bites of juicy sweetness.
Texture is also v important, so chewing does not become too boring. I do not like lettuce based salads because I feel it's too one dimensional for my liking. Instead, baby spinach / mixed leafy greens are my go-to. I definitely pick the ones with purplish leafs too, colors are very important in a salad. Bearing in mind, green / red / purple / orange etc, each of these colors represent different nutrients. Nuts are good sources of vitamins & adds a lovely crunch, I use at least ✌🏻️ varieties. 🍠🌰
My proteins are usually soft, e.g. Seafood like cooked / smoked salmon, sashimi, shrimps.. So contrasting textures ensure my bowl is not all.. overly mushy.
Okay I've digressed.
Anyhow. Main point here is, being more conscious of the food on my plate, places like The Providore who endorses the use of quality ingredients, really excites me. I appreciate that they appreciate their produce & take pride delivering 👍🏻 flavour combinations.
Pineapple, Blackberry & Mint Slow Pressed Juice
Dehydrated Pineapple slice? Delicious!
Topped with Chia Seeds & fresh Mint Leaves 💕
w grilled Chicken Breast, Peppers, Sheep's Feta, Kalamata Olives & Balsamic Dressing.
(Gluten-Free, Veg Option Avail)
Last thing to add, I also love how this cafe is in é heart of Raffles Place. & when I say heart, I am referring to that familiar open space atrium decked with lush carpeted grass nested in amongst the urban jungle. A casual hideout on a fast-paced street, engulfed by a thousand execs in business attires.
It constantly reminds me of how I've taken time out from my busy schedule for a little me time, & that feels good. 👍🏻
Live, Laugh, Love.
Monday's mantra. 🙃
Because I was away for a while, I needed to stock up on eat clean supplies.
Fruit choices are • bananas & • cherries. I concluded that Cold Storage @ Takashimaya has THE BEST cherries, even though they are priced at a ridiculously whopping $32 for a bag like that. IT'S CRAZY. But.. It's sweet. 😩
Actually everything there is more expensive. But, I do think it's fresher.
Protein choice: • Cocktail cut smoked salmon, they're on buy one get one free, both totalled $13.90. 👍🏻
The usuals included
• Coconut Water (duh)
• Honey Cherry Tomatoes
• Olives (trying a new brand, I prefer the last one)
• Soda Water
• Açaí Packs (which indicates that I naughtily went back for more Açaí that day 😶)
& 2 new items in the inventory
• Organic Hummus Dip (this is LOVE 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻)
• Chia Seeds
Handy fruit bowl (+ yes, peanut butter!), Project Açaí second round! 🙆🏻🙆🏻🙆🏻
Woots Woots!!! 🎉
Told ya I'm obsessed!
Their Pistachio Butter was $19.90!? 💸
Seriously break the bank lei!? I'm on a mission to find healthy butters at an affordable price! ARGH. 😵
I did get two packs of the sweetened Açaí though, homemade bowls / smoothies are so convenient, especially on weekends! 😄
So that was my very packed but satisfying Monday.
A little break before I start on Tuesday LOL.
Take 5 🖐🏻!
